Refugee activity- freeze frame.

For my reading this week Thomas, Eden, Jakob, Kahi, Cameron, and I did a freeze frame of our novel Refugee. I was the camera man, Kahi was the Dad, Thomas was the Mum, Jakob was Waleed, Cameron was Mahmoud, and Eden was the taxi driver. We did the scene where Mahmoud's family is in the taxi and the  taxi driver is pointing a gun at them.

  1. Great activity to choose, freeze frame is good fun. I like the camera angle from the taxi driver the best. When you do a freeze frame, all facial expressions and body gestures are important-I'm just not convinced by some of the grins in this serious, scary moment.

  2. Hi Emily my name is Jackie Littin at Kawakawa primary school I'm a year 8 student in Nga Rau Rangatira (RM 3). I really like your activity my favorite is how you use reading into a scene a fun and interesting scene I wish our class could do that. My question is I think you should take a video next time so we know the beginning the middle & the end?

  3. Hi Emily, I really like how you chose a different activity. I'm pretty sure that no one else has done it before, I also like how you shot your pictures in different angles. It makes it look more interesting and engaging, next time maybe take it more seriously as this is a scary moment in this book. But other than that you did an amazing job.
